Diversity in Missouri Public Libraries

mu diversity logoWelcome to our website!

This website was designed, written, and edited by the students of the University of Missouri’s “Leadership for Diversity in Public Libraries” graduate course, instructed by Dr. Denice Adkins, as a group project for the fall 2015 semester. We began the project by sending a survey to Missouri Librarians asking them various questions about diversity related issues. We received over 40 responses, and we narrowed the topics to the top five issues that concern Missouri librarians.

Those five issues are:

  • Cultural Awareness
  • Digital Divide
  • LGBTQ
  • Mental Health
  • Socioeconomic Status
  •
The website is divided into the categories above and we have included statistics and many links to resources that we hope you will find useful.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out our website!
